Tenant support
The New Tenancy Support Service provides a resettlement and tenancy related support to those taking a new tenancy for the first time and for those identified as vulnerable. Referrals come via our Homefinder Services.
Our Tenancy Support Service at Bolton at Home helps tenants who are at risk of losing their tenancy due to crises. When tenants or families are referred to this service, our team first addresses immediate concerns before working to understand the underlying causes of the crisis. We take a holistic approach to assess the needs of both tenants and their families, which could involve referrals to various services such as healthcare, social services, or mental health teams. Our team also handles issues like rent arrears, property repairs, and safeguarding concerns. Support is provided for up to 12 months, or longer, if necessary, with the goal of empowering our tenants to independently manage their situations in the future.
We also manage three commissioned contracts:
- Family Intervention, supporting families with housing barriers,
- Bright Outcomes, assisting individuals transitioning from temporary housing or facing mental health challenges; and,
- Delayed Transfer of Care Mental Health, helping individuals move from mental health wards into new tenancies.
