Striving to ensure equality
Our new Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy and supporting action plan outlines our commitment to strengthening how we work with colleagues to actively support our customers to remain responsive to their diverse needs.
We already have an established equality analysis process for our policies and procedures. We’re expanding this to our services to anticipate and avoid any negative impacts to customers, and putting remedies in place to make sure nobody is disadvantaged when accessing our services.
We’re also reviewing our recruitment and onboarding of new staff, training, and assessments to make these more inclusive. We want our hiring managers to look at people’s behaviours as well as competencies. We welcome diverse candidates and will continue to work to encourage a wider range of candidates to apply for jobs with us.
We’re always reviewing how we do things to make sure we create an environment of equity as well as equality. We’ll continue to work with our customers and colleagues to make sure that our commitments on equality, diversity and inclusion are in line with our customers’ needs and our fast-changing world.
