Our sheltered housing schemes provide older customers with the support needed to live independently.
These schemes include one or two-bedroom bungalows and apartments, with each tenant receiving personalised assistance from a dedicated support officer and 24-hour emergency Careline service.
Support is tailored to meet various needs, including physical health issues, hydration, nutrition, and financial assistance.
Currently, 50% of tenants receive moderate to high levels of support, and 40% have significant physical health needs.
Additionally, tenants benefit from a handyperson service and access to social activities, which are increasingly self-organised by the tenants themselves to foster community engagement and reduce loneliness.
Our extra care housing schemes, like sheltered housing, are designed for older customers but include on-site care provided by Bolton Cares, along with support from our officers.
Residents have 24-hour access to Careline emergency services, a handyperson service, and activities.
Two resident groups, Seniors in Partnership and Four Seasons, support sheltered and extra care tenants to influence services and apply for external funding to enhance their quality of life through social activities and events.
