Manbassadors
Bolton Manbassadors is an award-winning men's mental health project that we run.
It aims to:
- Grow a network of local organisations across Bolton acting as men’s health advocates called ‘Manbassadors’ who support and communicate with their customers.
- Help men to access local services and support for issues that impact their mental health.
- Develop a network of men’s social community activities in Bolton to provide safe spaces for men to talk to one another about mental health.
Last year, we:
Provided 67 men with 1:1 support for issues affecting their mental wellbeing.
Raised £24,000 to support Bolton Manbassador community activities.
Delivered a total of 228 sessions across nine community activities in Bolton that benefit men’s mental wellbeing e.g. Friday Night Football, Walking Cricket, and Camp Jam sessions.
Engaged 215 men in attending our groups.
Inspired 14 volunteers who have dedicated 734 hours to support our community offer.
Those who’ve been involved in the Manbassadors project have said:
“This is amazing!”
“It’s great to meet a service that is personal and cares.”
“This has been a literal lifesaver for me!”
After successfully securing National Lottery funding, we’re excited to enhance the local Manbassador offer and grow the provision across Greater Manchester over the next year.
