Helping people pay rent and sustain their tenancy
With the cost of living affecting everyone’s financial circumstances, we’ve continued to help, support, and reassure those struggling to pay their rent.
We’ve helped people find ways to save, apply for income they might be missing out on, and make affordable rent agreements to sustain their tenancies, which is a top priority for Revenue Services.
Our Money Advice and Employment Support services help people to put more money back in their pockets.
Target 98.3%
Over the past 12 months 99.3% of rent was collected.
Saving our customers money – George’s story
George was referred into Money Advice for a benefit check. Our trained advisor, Leanne, found out that George had recently lost his wife and was struggling to come to terms with his loss while still working at 78 years old. Leanne identified George was entitled to Attendance Allowance and completed the application during his first appointment.
George's Attendance Allowance was approved, which meant his Housing Benefit increased. He was also awarded Pension Credit which entitled him to a free TV licence. Once we’d secured George’s additional income, he decided to give up his job and is now enjoying his retirement.
George can’t quite believe how much better off he is, and often calls Leanne to tell her how much he appreciates the help and the positive difference it’s made to his life.
Our commitment to you
The next 12 months will continue to be challenging with ongoing cost of living pressures, uncertainty around energy costs, and more people moving to Universal Credit in 2024. We’ll continue to support you and work with colleagues and partners to sustain tenancies.
