Helping people into work

Bolton at Work is our dedicated employment support service, helping people to boost their skills and confidence, and supporting them into work, training, education and volunteering opportunities.

Here’s a breakdown of where we made an impact in 2022/23.

Support through our UCAN centres

323 people accessed employment support through our UCAN centres. Of these:

people got a job.

attended unaccredited training.

attended accredited training.

were supported into volunteering.

Career and Life Coaching Service

325 people accessed our barrier busting Career and Life Coaching service. Of these:

were supported into paid work.

were supported into volunteering.

started an accredited training course.

started an unaccredited training course.

Gaining employability skills with our Customer Training Programme

We’ve delivered a total of 64 courses through our Customer Training Programme, attended by 255 customers.

Courses range from Food Safety, First Aid, Customer Service and Health and Safety and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).

Working Wardrobe

Our Working Wardrobe helped 200 people with appropriate interview clothing and interview preparation with 109 people being offered jobs.

Education and Training Grants

We gave 16 grants to help people access education and training, amounting to £1,755.

In work support

We provided in work support to 22 people who started paid employment in 2022/23. 17 of these people remained in work or went into another permanent role after these six months.
